“You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you, they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance,” declares the Sovereign Lord.

I remember hearing it one time I was reading thru the bible on CD but couldn't find it again in print. It made me consider then, and even today, how this might pertain to the "aliens" settling in this country. I understand this is specifically talking to Israelites about Israel, but certainly some principles can be taught on a broader scale. A lot of Americans are upset with how many Mexicans are crossing the border, legally or not. But these verses tell us to consider aliens as native-born and to allow them an inheritance in the land. I think if these verses were more well know, and taught, there could be a cultural shift in America. Instead of Americans saying, "get off our land", we would be saying, "welcome to God's land."
