School Bus Accident

There was a tragedy near Ocala, FL this week. A school bus carrying 18 children had stopped to let off a couple of children when it was hit in the rear by a semi and pushed 275 feet down the road. The cab of the truck pushed in the rear seat area of the bus and both the bus and truck caught fire. Thanks to passersby all but one 13 yr old girl were saved.

The safety issue here is that the driver of the truck had been talking on his cell phone just before the crash and said he never saw the bus which was stopped, with lights flashing and stop signs out.

I would urge each of you to please pull over when you need to talk on the cell phone, or to use Bluetooth headsets if your phone is capable. Multitasking behind the wheel can and has resulted in many accidents and injuries.
