In honor of Mother’s Day
Footsteps
I hear gentle footsteps on the stairs
The boys and girls go up for prayers.
The moon is high and the stars are bright
It’s time for children to say goodnight.
A blanket soft to tuck them in snug,
Snug as a bug in a soft warm rug.
A bedtime story may be read by Dad,
Please not too scary and not too sad.
Mama makes sure that the light is dim
And teddy bears join in the night time hymn.
Lord watch over the sweet little bears,
For I cherish the footsteps on the stairs.
