A GOD LIKE THAT

He made the universe and the little baby’s smile
And the horse with magnificent beauty wild
He made the cat contrary, the puppy’s breath sweet
Who wouldn’t want to sit at this Savior’s feet?
The God of Love Who gave us our free will
Then died for our sins on Golgotha’s hill
The very same God that made the crickets chirp
The honey bee hum and the bullfrog burp
Made the mountains high, the valleys lush and deep
Made the butterflies flutter and the baby birds peep
As I sit in the garden on a cool spring day
I wonder why so many people turn Him away
On that lovely spring day as I thought and sat
I wondered, Who wouldn’t want to know a God like that?
