Fellow gardeners my only hope is that this book review is not too late for your Spring planting plans!! For lack of better words here is the "About the Author" note that explains this book in much less space than I could!! " Mel Bartholomew, a retired engineer, found the answer to the frustrations of most gardeners. 'I found a better way to garden,' says Mel, 'one that's more efficient, more manageable and less work.' The result is Square Foot Gardening. His method has received world-wide recognition for its simplicity and uniqueness and has been written up in every major newspaper and magazine." Side note: You only need a patio to do this!! Of course, you can do it anywhere, but for those of you who lack space but have a desire to grow a garden this is a perfect solution. I used 4 by 4 wood so I can sit on it and reach the entire garden without killing my back!! Also, during this economic disorder, getting back to the land is a little freshening. Happy Gardening!!
