This is the best parenting book I have read. Trust me I've read too many. In Parenting by the Book: Biblical Wisdom for Raising Your Child, John Rosemond gives sound biblical advice, throwing current psychological behavior modification (aka...rewards and treats to induce proper behavior) back to the pit it came from. Basically, all the advice grandma gave about raising kids--well, she was right. Whether you are in the stage of raising kids or know someone who could use a little age old wisdom... this book is for you! Incidentally, I read his book, A Family of Values a few years back and while your at it would recommend this one too. As a matter of fact, I just heard John on Jim Burns radio broadcast, HomeWord, yesterday!! Both men gave awesome advice...and to let you in on my next book recommend ahead of time--it is by Mr. Burns and it has to do with marriage-I'm still reading this one and so far...it has been marriage changing!!
